Todd Drowlette, one of the founders, works for a commercial real estate company and found a need in the community for a free site. Patrick Gray, the other founder, quit his current job to build their dream. The site was launched in 2009 with the help of private funding from Gary and Bob Bahre who are the previous owners of the New Hampshire International Speedway.

Both Todd and Pat started the site with a vision in mind of providing commercial real estate and properties to the community in the form of a free classifieds site. The commercial site expanded in just a short period of time and took to the community very well. To date, there are 16,854 properties from all over the country listed on the site.

There are many different functionalities of the commercial site. Buyers can contact the realtor of a certain property and sellers can post their properties for free. MoveThatBlock.com facilitates communication between buyers and sellers, in turn promoting more exposure which equals more sales. Sellers also have the capability of posting pictures and videos of their properties in order to make their listing more appealing to consumers. The commercial site has grown at such a rapid pace which Todd and Pat realized they had a successful idea.
